Campsite Reviews from Lucy…

There are a ton of websites that offer campsite, campground and RV Park reviews. But, traveling in a camper van makes our views (mine and Lucy’s) of sites a little bit different than the average RVer. So, in these posts, Lucy and I will review our stays based on:

  1. Outdoor Amenities/Activities: Traveling in a van (and some smaller RVs without a tow car) means packing up our site to go on any adventures. It also means that adventuring everyday can be exhausting. So, Lucy and I value a campground with walking trails and outdoor spaces and activities that allow me to get movement and exercise on the where we stay at camp.

  2. Bathrooms: If you have checked out my Lucy tour, you know that I only have a small composting toilet and outdoor shower on board. So access to bathrooms and showers is a big reason for me to stay in campgrounds. While I do have a membership to Planet Fitness for workouts and showers, it’s much easier to shower where I am staying if the facilities are available. I am not a super picky girl about the type of facility, but I am big on cleanliness.

  3. Location: As we have established, traveling in a van (and some smaller RVs without a tow car) means packing up our site to go on any adventures. So, a campsites location and access to attractions, shopping, and services means less driving for me. Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes Lucy and I enjoy being away from civilization and don’t mind the drive to get things we need. But, it’s good to know what each campground’s location is like to plan your best adventure.

  4. Community /Comfort: Let’s be honest, as a solo female traveler I listen to my intuition and gut about the places I stay. So, the community, safety, and overall vibe of a campground is important to my level of comfort and enjoyment in my stay. Now my gut is differnent than your so just know that this is really just my opinion.

  5. Everything Else: Any other cool features, concerning information, or general details that I didn’t cover will be in this section.

I am an organized Type A girlie at heart. So, this is my plan for reviewing sites. Lucy and I hope these reviews will support some small businesses and provide you with our pros/cons from a van perspective.

Happy Travels,

Heather and Lucy
