Lake Anna State Park Campground
On my drive north to Detroit I found a gem of a campground through my favorite app, Campendium. Lake Anna State Park is located in Spotsylvania, Virginia southwest of Fredericksburg. The below review is based on my standard categories and review scale with 1 Lucy 🚐 being the lowest score and 5 Lucys 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐 being the highest.

Location: Lake Anna State Park is off the beaten path. The closest large city is Fredericksburg, Virginia which is about 40 minutes away. Although there is not a ton to do around the park, the activities within the park will keep you busy for days. As I said in my post, I wish I had had more time to explore the beautiful trails within the park.

Community/Comfort: The campers at Lake Anna State Park pretty much kept to themselves. There were not a lot of activities going on or things to do while I was there, however I felt incredibly safe as a solo traveler. Rangers frequently made rounds throughout the park and kept the facilities clean.

Everything Else: Wifi is not available at the campground, however my Starlink had full connectivity and great speed. Staying at this park during peak leaf season was lucky timing for me, but it made the stay unforgettable. If you are able to be there during the end of October or early November, I would definitely recommend it.
5 Lucys for for Extras 🚐🚐🚐🚐
Overall I would rate Lake Anna State Park as 5 Lucys 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐. The spacious sites, the hiking, and the view of the lake make this campground a great stop.
Happy Camping!
