Emerald Isle RV Resort

Camping on the beach just doesn’t get old. On my way south for the holidays I decided to splurge a little for the week of Thanksgiving and booked a stay at the Emerald Isle RV Resort. This RV Resort is part of the Thousand Trails Campgrounds, however I am not a member. The below review is based on my standard categories and review scale with 1 Lucy 🚐 being the lowest score and 5 Lucys 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐 being the highest.

General Information and Contact Information

Name: Emerald Isle RV Resort

Address: 9102 Coast Guard Road, Emerald Isle, NC

Website: https://www.thousandtrails.com/north-carolina/emerald-isle-rv-resort/

Sites Available: The Emerald Isle RV Resort has multiple options for staying in the park including tent sites, RV sites, and vacation tiny homes. The sites are arranged in sections based on how close to the ocean you are with bathhouses for each section. There are a ton of sites, however several sections were closed at the time I was there as it was the off season. The sites are small and close together which is expected at the beach.

Outdoor Amenities/Activities: Emerald Isle RV Resort is located beachfront with only the dunes separating the campground from the ocean. The resort has built beautiful boardwalks out to the beach and a multi-tiered viewing platform for sunrise and sunset watching. There are miles of beach to walk, swim, and fish on, as well as, outdoor activities within the park including a swimming pool and restaurant. Within walking distance of the park is a grocery store, several restaurants, and some hiking trails. There is a ton to do in the area.

Bathrooms: There is one large bath house per section of the campground. The bathhouse is clean and spacious with modern and updated facilities. In addition there is a laundry room with multiple washer/dryer units.

Location: Emerald Island RV Resort is the heart of the beach fun. There are several things to do within walking distance and even more within a short drive. The closest large city is Jacksonville which is about 40 minutes away. The island has grocery stores, restaurants, and activities so there really isn’t a need to head in to Jacksonville unless you are just exploring.

Community/Comfort: I was at the resort during the off season, so there was not a ton going on. There was a small number of campers that kept to themselves, but it was really cold that week. So, outside activities weren’t super popular. I feel like this resort is a lot of fun in the warmer months.

Everything Else: Wifi is available at the campground and works pretty well. My Starlink also had full connectivity and great speed. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I arrived after hours and was told all of my information would be in the mailbox. Instead, when I arrived a kind employee was waiting for me to lead me to my site and get me set up. The incredible boardwalks and viewing spaces for the ocean on the property were incredible.

5 Lucys for for Extras 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐

Overall I would rate Emerald Isle RV Resort as 5 Lucys 🚐🚐🚐🚐🚐. The quality of the services, the helpful staff, and the beautiful view of the ocean made it worth the expense.

Happy Camping!
